Forfar – Lawrie & Symington (February 1st ) sold 40 prime cattle and 2,572 prime sheep.

Prime bullocks (18) averaged 209.3p to a top price of 224p per kg for a Limousin from Nether Myres purchased by James Chapman Butchers, Wishaw and to £1565 per head from Mill of Inverarity also to James Chapman (Butchers), Wishaw.

Heifers (22) averaged 213.8p to a top price of 235p per kg and to £1,433 per head for a Limousin from West Bog bought by J.B. Penman (Butchers), Crail.

Leading prices per kg: Prime bullocks: Nether Myres (Lim) 223p, 221p; Woodhead of Mailer (Lim) 219p, Drummietermont(Cont) 214p. Heifers – West Bog (Lim) 233p, Nether Myres (BRBX) 232p, Milton of Ruthven (Lim) 218p, Mill of Inverarity (Cont) 217p.

Old Season hoggs (2,379) averaged 198p per kilo.

1,410 SQQ hoggs averaged 206.5p per kilo
